How to Make a Coffee Filter Bat

This is the perfect time of year for family arts and crafts! Join Shyler making family friendly and kid approved arts and crafts that won’t break the bank or take all day! In this video she is going to show you how to make a flying bat with just a coffee filter and a clothes pin!

What You Need

  • Wooden spring clothes pins
  • Round coffee filters
  • Googly eyes
  • Washable markers
  • Glue with tip applicator
  • Black paint
  • Paint brush
  • scissors
  • White gel pen or paint marker
  • Spray bottle with water in it

Directions

  1. Flatten coffee filter out.
  2. Use markers to color a pattern onto the coffee filter.
  3. Take spray bottle and spray your pattern design on the coffee filter with it until the color start to run together.
  4. Paint clothes pin black.
  5. Once paint dries, glue on googly eyes and draw some white fans with your white gel pen.
  6. Take dried coffee filter and fold them into fourths.
  7. Cut a scaloped edge onto the coffee filter.
  8. Unfold coffee to one half and 3 inches from the edge.
  9.  Once your clothes pin is dry, clamp it to the center of your coffee filter.
