Central Indiana’s Best Fall Color Spots you need to explore this year.

Color forecast for the Central Indiana area.

Most of central Indiana will begin to see the trees changing around the early part of October with the most vibrant colors happening toward mid to late October. 

The Greater Lafayette, Indiana area features several places to see and capture the colorful fall season.  

CELERY BOG NATURE AREA

This 195-acre property contains over 4 miles of paved trails and 2.5 miles of natural paths through the woods.   Plus, take it the sights of native wildlife and make use of their interpretive signs, audio information units, and three observation decks to make your walk or hike more enjoyable.  

PROPHETSTOWN STATE PARK

This Indiana State Park located along the Wabash River & Tippecanoe River features several trails ranging from 2 – 3.5 miles.  Some of the trails contain marshy areas, so be sure to bring appropriate footwear.  But, you will be treated to a variety of stunning views.

CLEGG MEMORIAL GARDEN

Next, travel a little further south into Lafayette and take a walk through Clegg Memorial Garden.  Capture fall in all its glory overlooking the scenic Wildcat Creek.   The nature trails & bridges feature plants & trees native to Indiana.

TURKEY RUN STATE PARK

This state park will have you in awe of not only its geological wonders, but all of the aged forests and scenic views along Sugar Creek.  There are 11 different types of trails varying in difficulty types from easy to very rugged.  Whatever type of fall adventure you seek, Turkey Run State Park is waiting for you.
